PROCESS FOR
WEB DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
The
following is an outline of the process I use when working on a
custom web design project. Most of the process can be handled
via e-mail or by phone, if that is desirable for you. Please contact
me if you have additional questions.
- Client Questionnaire: Client input is the foundation
on which successful web sites are built. I will send a
questionnaire to help you articulate and identify the
overall goals of your site design, including specific
questions regarding message, audience, content, look,
feel, and functionality. Your answers will ensure that
I understand your vision and can provide you the best
possible product. This information is the basis for the
price quote.
|
- Learn your business: I want to understand your business
and what your competitors are doing on the internet. While
you are filling out the Client Questionnaire I will learn
more about your business by talking with you and checking
out your competitors.
|
- Proposal: I will provide you with a web plan based on your client
questionnaire and my research. This plan will include
a cost and schedule estimate, and my concept for your
web site. Once you have signed off on the plan we will
complete a contract and start development.
|
- Contract: After a signed proposal, we'll agree to and sign
a contract tailored to your web site's needs. I will begin
development of your web site upon receiving your down
payment, 1/2 of the total fee, and upon receiving your
materials.
|
- Content: Content, photos, and any graphics, such as your logo,
will need to be delivered before I begin design and development.
They may be delivered in digital format, e-mailed or on
disk or CD, or I will scan photos if you only have hard
copies. Delivering this information before the development
process begins makes the process more efficient for both
you and me.
|
- Web
Site: I will present to you the final version
of the web site for your review by the Completion Date
on the contract.
|
- Uploading: After receiving the remaining balance, I will upload
your site to your domain.
|
If you would like additions to your web site during the process,
I can make adjustments to the scope of the project. Additions
may change the Completion Date of the project depending on complexity.
If you have chosen me to maintain your web site, I will make changes
you send to us based on the process set in the maintenance contract.
